Leifje Dighton

Leifje Dighton is currently the Plant Manager responsible for leading the production of Top Freezer Refrigerators in Decatur, Alabama, and a recent Step Ahead Award recipient. Her responsibilities include protecting and developing employees; ensure customers’ product expectations are exceeded; deliver business results by driving profitability of manufacturing and sourcing strategies to optimize total product cost; support growth with factory master planning to align with market strategy; and practice continuous improvement to progress VCP, HPU, FPY, and I&I rate.

Leifje is a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering. She has close to 30 years of manufacturing and leadership experience with multiple businesses. Leifje is noted for strategic planning, strong team engagement, project management, and lean manufacturing. She is skilled in manufacturing processes, new product development, continuous improvement, and program execution.

Leifje is a mentor and recruiting committee member for Auburn Engineering 100 Women Strong; a board member of Decatur Morgan County Chamber of Commerce, Alabama Chapter of Women in Manufacturing and United Way of Morgan County; and a champion for GE Appliances’ Women in Operations.

Leifje and her husband have two wonderful children who attend college in Kentucky and live in Madison, AL . She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, gardening, and college football & basketball.
