For over 75 years, this global leader in pharmaceutical manufacturing known for their HPV vaccine has been manufacturing lifesaving drugs and vaccines at its Elkton facility in the Shenandoah Valley home. With seven expansions in Rockingham County in the last 25 years, their growth has resulted in over $1.6 billion in capital investments and employing over 1,000 Virginians at its 1.1 million-square-foot facility in Elkton.  They are known as a global healthcare leader dedicated to improving health and wellbeing around the world with their lifesaving drugs and vaccines. Through research, innovation, and a mission to save and improve lives, they deliver advanced health solutions with prescription medicines, vaccines, biologic therapies, and animal health products.  Guests will tour the training facility which mimics operating units of current production, and the newest production facility which was recently qualified using state of the art manufacturing of vaccine products.

Visitor Instructions: Proceed through the Main Entrance and park in visitor parking.  The group will meet in the main lobby for check-in and badging before proceeding to the cafeteria for introductions, facility overview and safety instructions. 

Guest information/safety guidelines:

  • Visitors must wear flat, closed-toe, closed-heel shoes.
  • Please wear pants or long skirt (below the knees).   
  • Long hair must be secured.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided.
