Dorte Heffernan is the International Trade Manager with the Northwest Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission, based in Oil City, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. In this position, she leads the international marketing program and its staff by providing marketing and export technical assistance to Pennsylvania manufacturing and service companies in eight counties of northwest Pennsylvania with the goal to help companies grow export sales so that they can create and retain jobs.
The international marketing program of the Northwest Commission is one of ten designated Regional Export Networks (REN) of Pennsylvania’s Department of Community and Economic Development’s Office of International Business. Pennsylvania is dedicated to helping its businesses grow and expand into world markets. The REN partner serves as the gateway to Pennsylvania’s Authorized Trade Representatives (ATRs). Pennsylvania’s Department of Community and Economic Development’s Office of International Business Development (OIBD) contracts with 13 Authorized Trade Representatives covering 44 markets.
