Professional Bio
Misti M. Rice joined Magna in October 2016 and holds the position of Executive Director of Government Affairs. In this role she is responsible for the strategic management of Magna's government affairs initiatives, and she provides effective economic and workforce development, education and advocacy services to all of Magna. She also serves as the company's voice with global public policy makers, government officials, industry organizations and community leaders to promote the mission, business objectives and strategic goals of Magna.
In 2020, Rice was appointed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer to the Michigan Women's Commission and is the President of the board of directors for Women in Manufacturing. Rice also services on the board of directors for the Public Affairs Council, the Michigan Manufacturers Association, South Carolina Business Council and the Foster Care Review Board of Oakland County Michigan. She is a member of the Automotive Women's Alliance Foundation, the Southern Automotive Women's Forum and the State Government Affairs Council.
Prior to joining Magna, Rice worked for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles US. She has more than 25 years of legal, government and consumer affairs experience and has advanced policy areas including automotive, transportation, consumer privacy, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, finance, non-profit, consumer credit, education, retail sales, insurance, real estate and health care law. Rice also managed political campaigns for a variety of issues, organizations and candidates and has been an adjunct professor of history, public relations, political science and public administration.
Rice holds a juris doctor degree from the University of Tulsa, a master's in public administration from the University of Oklahoma and a bachelor of arts from Northeastern State University.
