Shauna Bates

Shauna Croom Bates is a dedicated wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend. She joined Mazda Toyota Manufacturing (MTM) in October 2019 as Assistant Manager for Volume and Service Parts Planning and the Central Control Room. After an 8-month tenure in Pre-Production Management, she was promoted to Manager in late 2022, overseeing Production Planning, Central Control Room, and the Supply Chain Support Group. In December 2023, Shauna transitioned to Manager of Toyota Parts Ordering, External Logistics, and Packaging, and later to her current role as Manager of Parts Ordering for both Toyota and Mazda.

At MTM, Shauna is deeply involved in various initiatives, including serving as an Advisor for the minority Definity Group PRISM (Partnership and Resources Impacting and Supporting Minorities), and being an active member of the Christian and Women Impacting Women BPGs. She has mentored several women, helping them grow in their careers.

Shauna is also engaged with Women in Manufacturing (WiM) Alabama Chapter, where she served as North Region Lead for two years and Vice Chair in 2024.

Before joining MTM, Shauna spent nearly a decade at Toyota Motor Manufacturing of Alabama, working in various roles, including Volume and Service Parts Planning Specialist, Customer Service and Packaging Specialist, and Group Leader in Internal Logistics, Shipping, and Receiving. She held leadership positions, including President of the Team Member Activities Association and Chair of the African American Collaborative.

Shauna’s career began at Norfolk Southern Railroad as Crew Management Assistant Manager. She earned dual master’s degrees in Supply Chain Management and Human Resources from Ashford University, and dual undergraduate degrees in Marketing and Industrial Distribution from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Shauna is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her loved ones.
