About Handi-Crafters Opportunity Center:

Handi-Crafters was established in 1961 by a dedicated group of parents who refused to accept that their developmentally disabled children were "unemployable." Driven by a belief that meaningful work, with the right guidance and skill-building opportunities, could lead to greater independence and an improved quality of life, they pioneered a program that soon gained widespread recognition and success. Over 60 years later, this powerful vision remains at the heart of our mission.

Today, Handi-Crafters Opportunity Center (HCOC) operates one of the largest vocational rehabilitation work centers for individuals with disabilities in Southeast Pennsylvania. Those enrolled in our program experience empowerment and growth as they "come to work" at HCOC. Here, clients receive hands-on training through our Contract Packaging business, earn a paycheck, and work closely with our trusted team to expand their opportunities and employment goals.
