Join us for breakfast and an engaging session with Ann Krause from Metropolitan Community College.

Ann Krause is currently the Lead Welding Laboratory Technician at Metropolitan Community College. As a graduate of MCC, her passion and knowledge of the skilled trades brought her back to the college in 2022.

Prior to her involvement in the skilled trades, Krause grew up in Omaha and then went to college at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln, where she studied Architecture with a minor in Advertising and Public Relations. During her senior year, she found that a traditional college was not a good fit and began looking for a fresh start in a new career.

In 2018, Krause enrolled in the Welding Technology program at MCC. While in school, she worked as a welder for a variety of custom manufacturing shops, fabricating for both residential and commercial spaces. Her love of welding and fabrication knowledge has brought her to where she is today. Currently, she is working on another degree at MCC in Auto Collision Technology, with the hopes of restoring a 2000 Toyota Tacoma pickup.

Krause’s determination and skillset drives her to overcome the stigma of women working in the skilled trades.
