The new year is everyone's favorite time to refresh, refine or start anew - especially as it relates to branding. The most important asset to any business is its Brand. It's the foundation for any marketing and sales strategy to be successful and on a personal level, it's how you set yourself apart from everyone else. Naturally, this leads to the following questions:

How Do I Legally Protect My Brand?

Join the WiM Ohio Chapter for a panel discussion of all things branding, including tips for developing a brand, building brand awareness, protecting your brand using intellectual property, and hot topics such as rebranding in the current social climate.  Our panelists would especially like to discuss any specific branding questions or topics that you and/or your company may be interested in.

Meet our Panelists

Lauren Tagarao

Lauren Tagarao is an intellectual property attorney and Associate at Renner Otto, with a focus in trademark and copyright law. She enjoys exploring the creative side of brand protection, while prioritizing a practical approach to balancing the legal and commercial aspects of safeguarding valuable IP assets. She earned a B.A. in Arts, Entertainment and Media Management at Columbia College Chicago and her J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law. Outside of the office, Lauren enjoys spending time with her husband and two cats, and is looking forward to travelling again in the (hopefully) near future.

Megan Conway

Megan Conway is a seasoned brand and marketing strategist.  Megan is the president of Matter, an agile, collaborative, anti-agency made up of a powerful network of specialists, experts and resources. Matter provides insight, guidance & strategy to all types of small to mid-size B2B and B2C companies looking to jumpstart, streamline or grow their marketing efforts. With an emphasis on brand, Matter brings clarity and direction to marketing’s most crucial question:  Who are you, What do you do and Why does it Matter?

Nick Gingo

Nick Gingo is an intellectual property attorney and Partner at Renner Otto, with a focus on trademark law. Nick’s broad range of experience in both procuring and enforcing intellectual property allows him to provide creative and strategic counsel to clients looking to develop and protect their brands. Nick earned a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from The Ohio State University and a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law. Nick is a proud dad of hilarious eight-year-old twin girls and enjoys fishing and cooking in his spare time.
