Companies all over the state and country are struggling to find workers. Join WiM Ohio for an panel event where we will discuss the state of the industry and tactics for success. Our panelists represent women who are recruiting, interviewing, and being interviewed in the manufacturing sector.

Meet Our Panelists

	Desirae Metcalfe is the Director of Human Resources at Automation Plastics in Aurora, Ohio.  She has over 25 years of experience in the HR field with experience across multiple manufacturing sectors. Desirae has certifications from HRCI and SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management).  Outside of work Desirae enjoys raising a special breed of miniature horses called Falabellas and spending time with her grandchildren.
	Jennifer Thompson is currently Vice President of Operations for Hickory Harvest Foods.  Her experience in Operations Management is extensive and includes Plant Manager roles at Associated Materials, Sun Opta, Amcor Rigid Plastics, and HJ Heinz.  She holds a degree from Purdue University in Food Science and an MBA from Georgia State University.  She holds certification is lean manufacturing, sanitation excellence, HACCP, PCQI and auditing and Supply Chain Management.  Outside of work Jennifer enjoys hiking with her 2 Labradors, hunting, cooking, and hanging out with friends.
	Sara Drake is the Business Development Manager at Alliance Industrial Solutions.  She has spent the last 3 years helping companies develop staffing plans to increase retention and employee engagement.  Prior to this Sara worked as a General Manager for ULTA Beauty.  She attended Kent State University and Lorain Community College.  Sara is also a volunteer for the WiM Ohio Chapter and the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women campaign. She has been happily married to Chris for 19 years and is a proud mom to two daughters, Macy and Natalie.
	Candace Harmon joined Jobs for Ohio Graduates as the Director of Development and Strategic Partnership Manager in January 2021.  She has had a diverse career in the non-profit sector, holding the positions of Community Development Specialist for University Hospitals, Manager of Corporate Philanthropy for the Girl Scouts, and a teacher for Cleveland Municipal School District.  She holds a degree in English Education from the University of Akron.  In Candace’s spare time she enjoys the outdoors and is a certified canoe and archery instructor.
